Web Generation - Key Projects

  • Application Development

  • New Horizons Secure Referral Sharing Site
  • I developed a secure online system to allow the New Horizon’s Mental Health Program to upload and share client referral forms with members across several different organisations.

  • ISCHS Training Calendar
  • I developed a training calendar to allow the Training Coordinator at ISCHS to advertise and manage in-house training courses, including allowing staff to make bookings online.

  • ISCHS Student Registration System
  • I developed a student registration system at ISCHS to allow the Human Resources Manager to manage the process of student placements.

  • SMS message system
  • I ran a project which enabled social workers to send supportive SMS messages to their clients via a web interface.

  • Jewellery Cost/Price Calculator
  • I developed an Excel spreadsheet which allowed the owner of Pink Lou Lou to calculate the cost of creating jewellery both within Australia and overseas.

  • Simple Tools Phone Directory and In/Out Boards

  • I developed a web-based phone directory and in/out board system. Organisations which have purchased and set up the boards include:

    • 3 divisions within Caulfield General Medical Centre (Maps, Community Health and Allied Health)

    • Dianella Community Health Service

    • Darebin Community Health Service

    • North Yarra Community Health Service

    • Inner South Community Health Service

    • The Salvation Army - Eastlink

    • Greater Western Area Health Service

  • Red Cross

  • While consulting to the Red Cross:

    • I developed a database of the Red Cross Australian Services in both ASP.Net and Excel

    • I populated this database using existing sets of data – such as the finance and HR databases

    • I developed and carried out a process through which the service information was validated and revised by department heads

    • I trained two admin support staff in using the database to retrieve information

    • I developed and enhanced the Excel-based reports for the Services Change Planning and Support department

    • I developed the architecture for the Services Change Planning and Support Wiki, including setting up the initial site and providing the training and support to enable the team to use it

    • I created a process, with supporting Excel Spreadsheets, through which two divisions could better communicate with another division

    • I developed a resource to assist with the development and use of the Wiki across the organisation

  • Catholic Education Office

  • I provide group and one-on-one training in the Microsoft Office suite - PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook - to staff members.

  • ISCHS

  • I provide ongoing support and development for the ISCHS website, intranet and applications including application development, website development, training and consulting services.

ISCHS - Key Projects

  • Document Management

  • Through consultation with departments across the organisation, I developed a system for standardising the folder structure and the naming conventions used for documents and files across the organisation

  • Working across multiple levels of the organization, I re-sorted the existing documents and files into the new structures, and delivering training and presentations across the organisation to stake holder committees, staff and managers.

  • The result was described as having turned a dog’s breakfast into a system where people could actually find documents.

  • Intranet Development

  • I redesigned the ISCHS Intranet providing it with a better navigation, a more comprehensive structure, and the ability to capture statistics on how it was being used.

  • I developed web-based libraries within the Intranet to manage the ISCHS forms, logos and templates.

  • I implemented a search engine on the organisation's network drives to enhance the sharing of information across the organisation. Roughly 16 searches were performed every day by staff to find relevant information.

  • I created an ISCHS acronym dictionary to allow people to look up unfamiliar organisational terms and increase cross-program communication.

  • Application Development

  • I created a universal booking system to allow staff to book cars, rooms, interpreters and equipment. As well as making staff’s life easier, the application produced usage reports for external and internal use, and is used to optimise the use of facilities across the organisation.

  • I created a web-based internal phone directory and in/out board which allowed staff to indicate whether they were in or out the building and the time they would return. This tool saved ISCHS over $100,000 every year by converting time that was being wasted in looking up phone numbers into productive time.

  • Website Development

  • I created the ISCHS internet site - http://www.ischs.org.au - including writing the content, creating the graphic design, creating and coding the structure using DotNetNuke and performing Search Engine Optimisation on it. With the site, I created a web-based services directory to promote and display the services the Community Health Centre offer.

  • Project Management

  • In an ISCHS flagship project in which over 700 clients answered a 12 page questionnaire, I, working with a statistician and admin staff, developed and implemented a system to convert the paper questionnaires into a database. I also provided input and direction in to the structure of the project to help ensure it was a success.
